“Values are to a church ministry what the navigation system is to the airplane. Values guide the leaders and congregation, keeping them on course to pursue the vision that God has given to the church.”

We, at Winona Gospel Church value:

God’s Word is our authority for life and ministry.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”                (2 TIMOTHY 3: 16-17)

Praying according to God’s will reveals our dependence upon Him.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come,Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.”                                                                                       (MATTHEW 6:9-13)

A right relationship with God produces right relationships with others.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and  with all your strength. The second is this:

‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these’.                     (MARK 12: 30 – 31)

Christ’s love compels us to use our gifts to bless others in practical ways.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God  provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever, Amen”                          (1 PETER 4: 8 – 11)

A heart after God’s heart reaches out to the lost with the gospel, and helps them to follow Jesus and grow.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”                                       (MATTHEW 28: 18 – 20)

God has created the family as the natural means for training children in righteousness.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.Impress them upon your children. Talk with them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.”                                                                               (DEUTERONOMY 6: 5 – 9)
